KORONADAL CITY: Officials of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) today claimed it had conducted 572 successful anti-illegal drug operations in the SOCCSKSARGEN region this year.

The period covered was from January to September 2014.

“As a result of our anti illegal drug campaign, we have filed 580 cases to 402 arrested individuals,” Adam said.

The arrest of Police Officer 1 Lamslani Bernabe, a former police in Cotabato City and high value drug targets Rhemar Divinagracia, Ninonito Behira, and Fatima Hassem in Koronadal City earlier this year, were among the most successful drug operation of PDEA 12.

The massive campaign of PDEA and PNP was part of its campaign to lower the supply of drugs and to solve the escalating problems of illegal drugs in Region 12.

Adam said most of the illegal drugs that are delivered in various parts of the region are transported from Cotabato City.

For the remaining months of the year, Adam said, PDEA will intensify its campaign that will focus mainly in prevention and education of the youth who are the most vulnerable sector in the region.
