PDEA-ARMM confiscates P4.5-M shabu

LANAO DEL SUR: In a joint buy bust operation, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Philippine Army (PA) confiscated shabu with an estimated market value of about P4.5 million in Lanao del Sur.

PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo G. Cacdac, Jr. said that the illegal drug, weighing more or less one kilogram, contained inside 10 large-sized plastic sachets, was seized from suspect Ayder Macabando Ibrahim, 22 years old, a resident of East Marinaut, Marawi City.

On May 22, 2015 at around 10:30 pm, a poseur-buyer was able to hatch a transaction with Ibrahim to purchase one plastic sachet of shabu. They agreed to meet in Barangay Kilala, Marawi City in Lanao del Sur.

Upon the pre-arranged signal, operatives of PDEA Regional Office-Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao under Director Yogi Filemon Ruiz, in collaboration with elements of 65th Infantry Battalion, 9th Infantry Division, PA, arrested Ibrahim after he received the marked money in exchange for the illegal drug.

When frisked, Ibrahim yielded an additional 10 pieces of plastic sachets of shabu weighing more or less 1 kilogram worth P4.5 million.

Ibrahim is detained while cases for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are prepared for filing before the Lanao del Sur Prosecution Office against him.
