PDEA contributes to national greening program


CAMP VICENTE LIM, LAGUNA: The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Region 4A (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon)  in cooperation with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Nasugbu mayor’s office planted 700 mangrove propagules along the shoreline of Barangay Papaya on April 16. PDEA Deputy Regional Director Gilbert Buenafe said the tree-planting is the agency’s contribution to the country’s National Greening Program. The activity also shows that law enforcement agencies like PDEA is not only created mainly to implement RA 9165 otherwise known as The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, but also to help in all projects that involves the welfare of the citizenry.
