PDEA distributeS P2.6-M reward to 11 tipsters

Eleven civilian informants, who wore masks to protect their identity, received over P2.6 million in cash reward from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Monday. The reward and incentive scheme, under the PDEA Operation: Private Eye (OPE), is aimed at encouraging citizens to report suspected illegal drug activities in their community. PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo Cacdac Jr. commended the informants identified only through their codenames. The OPE Rewards Committee, which is composed of members from the academe, non-government organizations, law enforcement, religious and business sectors, has approved in a resolution at least P2,648,970.29 as monetary reward following a careful deliberation.
