MAGUINDANAO: Academics and professionals from state-run universities and colleges in Mindanao formed the Alliance for Just Peace and Development (AJPD) in support of the Comprehensive Agreement on Bangsamoro. Led by Gov. Esmael Mangudadatu of Maguindanao as president and former Department of Education Region 12 director Estrella Abid-Babano as vice president, the officers of AJDP were took their oaths before Presidential Adviser on Peace Process Teresita “Ging” Deles during the induction ceremony at Buluan town here. AJPD, a non-stock and non-profit organization open to Mindanao residents, regardless of religion and cultural background. The group’s members are from Maguindanao, North Cotabato, Lanao del Sur, Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi. Babano said the group’s activities will be closely coordinated with the government’s peace panel, Moro Islamic Liberation Front, Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process, Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police.
