UNIVERSITY of Perpetual Help System Dalta Altas start the second round elimination as they aim for a big win over Arellano University Chiefs today while Jose Rizal University Heavy Bombers face College of St. Benilde Blazers in the 89th National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) basketball tournament at The Arena in San Juan City.
Coach Aric del Rosario’s Altas need to win over the Chiefs in their quest to regain a share of second spot along with defending titlist San Beda College Red Lions, who are bearing an 8-2 win-loss slate. A win by the Altas would force a two-way at second with the Red Lions.
They will collide against the Chiefs at 4 p.m. while the Heavy Bombers take on the Blazers at 6 p.m.
The secondary matches pit Perpetual Altalettes against the Arellano Braves at 12 noon and the Light Bombers meet the La Salle Greenhills Greenies at 2 p.m.
Del Rosario expressed confidence his wards can overcome the challenge of the Chiefs, whom they already crashed 73-66 in the first round of the elimination last July 18. He will rely on reliables Juneric Baloria, Chrisper Elopre, Nosa Omorogbe, Earl Scottie Thompson, Harold Arboleda and Justine Alano.

Forrester, Donald Gumaro, Levi Hernandez, John Pinto, Keith Agovida and Renmer Caperal to avenge their first round setback and notch their fourth win in 10 matches.
Host St. Benilde Blazers hope for a good end game this time against the Heavy Bombers, who defeated them by just two points, 71-73, via overtime last July 11.
The Bombers are aiming for their sixth win in 10 games and strengthen their hold of fourth spot while the Blazers are aiming for their fourth win in also 10 games.
