• Perpetual posts slim win over Lyceum


    GAB Dagangon posted 14 points to power Perpetual Help System DALTA’s close 65-60 win over Lyceum of the Philippines University on Saturday in the National Collegiate Athletic Association Season 90 seniors basketball tournament at The Arena in San Juan City.

    “I expected him to play like that because he’s really a good player, he just needs more experience,” said Perpetual Help coach Aric del Rosario of Dagangon.

    The triumph allows Perpetual to share the third spot with Jose Rizal University and College of Saint Benilde all three teams bearing similar 6-4 win-loss records.

    Juneric Baloria contributed 12 points, Harold Arboleda 10, Justine Alano 14, and Earl Scottie Thompson 10 points plus a game-high 15 rebounds and four assists to lead the Most Valuable Player statistical race.

    Dexter Zamora led the Lyceum Pirates with 18 points.

    Lyceum’s win-loss record fell to 5-5.
