LIMA: A Peruvian judge on Thursday issued a domestic and international warrant for the arrest of former president Alejandro Toledo over accusations he took a $20-million bribe from scandal-plagued Brazilian construction firm Odebrecht.
Judge Richard Concepcion granted the request to jail Toledo for 18 months of “preventative custody,” calling for his “immediate location, capture and confinement.”
