CEBU CITY: Rafael Pescos and Ruffa Sorongon won the men’s and women’s 21-kilometer race in the 40th Milo Marathon Cebu Leg, which started in front of Cebu Normal University and ended at Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC) on Sunday.
Pescos, who hails from Negros Occidental, finished the 21K course in 1 hour 14 minutes and 1 second to dethrone two-time champion Noel Tillor, who finished third with 1:17:23.
Michel Largo bagged second place after clocking 1:17:03.
Sorongon, on the other hand, clocked 1:26:27 to win second straight in the women’s 21K. Cresabel Cadion (1:32:14) and Sandra Soliano (1:46:26) were the runners-up.
Abrahal Cheruiyot Kilimo (33:02) won the men’s 10K and was followed by Ariel Saballa (34:58) and Jason Padayao (35:30).
Karla Cosep (49:52) topped the women’s side, Rue Reindhardt Panibon (50:13) placed second, while Rona Lacanlale (52:19) was third.
In the 5K category, John Cliff Debulosan (16:15) won men’s division and Mary Joy Loberanis ruled the women’s class.
John Daryl Manos (16:46) and Mark Domie Dinoy (16:54) finished second and third in the men’s, while Cherry Andrin (19:42) Karen Andrea Manayon (20:02) were the runners-up in the women’s.
Kent Lloyd Gabino (11:17) shone in the boys’ 3K, Carl Wayne Dichios (11:17) was second and Kirk Nanz Alison (11:25) took third place.
Moira Frances Erediano (11:58) bagged top honors in girls’ 3K, Jessel Ochia (12:18) took second place and Krystelle Me Leyson (13:13) salvaged third place.
