THE Peugeot 208, a direct descendant of the legendary Peugeot 205 rally car, will follow in its ancestor’s racing path by competing in rallycross, according to Peugeot’s representative in the Philippines, Eurobrands Distributor Inc. (EDI).
It noted that the popularity and excitement inherent in rallycross has seen the particular motor sport’s discipline grow in recent years, and has been given a further lift by the creation of the FIA World Rallycross Championship in 2014. EDI said that all the ingredients were consequently in place for Peugeot to join forces with one of the sport’s leading teams, Hansen Motorsport.
