A DELEGATION of Filipino businessmen, led by Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima, recently visited Peugeot’s head office in Paris, France, as the Philippine Trade and Investments Promotion Mission sought to highlight trade investment opportunities in the country.
According to Eurobrands Distributor Inc. (EDI), which sells Peugeot vehicles in the Philippines, the delegation was welcomed by PSA Peugeot Citroen chief executive for Asian Operations Gregoire Olivier.
EDI said the highlight of the Philippine business delegation’s visit was the private unveiling of the new Peugeot 308, a day ahead of the car’s public launch in France.
Olivier noted the growth of Peugeot in Asia, particularly in the Philippines, where EDI opened six new dealerships since introducing the brand in January. EDI said it plans to open at least four more dealerships before the end of the year.
For his part, Purisima hinted at bigger opportunities for Peugeot in the Philippines, particularly regarding EDI’s assembly capabilities, the company said.
EDI is presently selling four Peugeot models; the 3008, 5008, 508 and RCZ. The company bared it will launch in the “months to come” the 308, along with the Peugeot Expert Teepee, 208 GTi and the 2008.
