• Peugeot sends to Paris eco run winners

PHILIPPINE Peugeot importer Eurobrands Distributor Inc. (EDI) announced it has crowned the grand-prize winners in its Fuel Eco Run series staged last year with a trip for two to Paris, France.

Named winners in the owners division were husband and wife Arcadio and Mary Elizabeth Tolentino, who averaged 28.5kp/l in a Peugeot 508 1.6 e-HDi Microhybrid. In the guests division, the team of Ronnie Trinidad and Tinni Isaguirre bested the field with the same 28.5kp/l result, but on board a smaller Peugeot 3008 1.6 e-HDi Microhybrid.

EDI said the winning teams recently visited Peugeot’s head office on Grand Armee, Paris, as well as Peugeot’s birthplace in Sochaux.

“The trip opened our eyes to the magnitude of Peugeot’s influence in the automotive world—especially in Europe,” Trinidad said. “We are grateful to EDI and to Peugeot for allowing us to experience driving a great fuel miser in the form of the 3008 Crossover, and for allowing us a glimpse at the bigger picture—an automotive macro perspective through the lens of a carmaker with more than a hundred years of experience.”

EDI said that while the initial goal of the Peugeot Eco Fun Run was to highlight the fuel saving capabilities of Peugeot’s local offerings, the activity eventually embodied the French automotive brand’s tagline of “motion and emotion.”
