PEUGEOT has chosen tennis star Novak Djokovic as its international ambassador, the Peugeot distributor in the Philippines, Eurobrands Distributor Inc. (EDI), announced.
With the partnership, EDI said Peugeot confirms and strengthens its strategy in the tennis world, in a year that also marks the 30th anniversary of the brand’s partnership with Roland Garros. Djokovic’s worldwide fame, particularly in China, was a decisive factor in Peugeot’s choice.
EDI noted that tennis is one of the areas in which Peugeot has invested in for several years. The three-year partnership agreement with Djokovic allows the use of his image in all of the brand’s activities globally. The Peugeot logo will appear on Djokovic’s left sleeve in all of the tournaments he enters.
EDI said Djokovic embodies Peugeot’s values of excellence, allure and emotion.
“I’m happy to represent a great French automobile manufacturer, recognized throughout the world, and with an industrial history going back 200 years,” Djokovic said. “In my eyes Peugeot embodies French elegance, refinement and the expression of a certain art of living.”
