PEUGEOT announced that its stand at the upcoming 65th Frankfurt Motor Show, one of the most important on the auto planet, will feature 30 concepts and models that highlight the brand’s ambitions and its move up-market.
To lead Peugeot’s charge are its new 308, upgraded 3008 and 5008, the carmaker’s BlueHDi models that meet Euro6 diesel emission standards, HYbrid4 diesel-electric hybrid products, the 208 HYbrid FE demonstrator, and the 2008 HYbrid Air Concept. Meanwhile, the stunning RCZ R, Onyx Concept and two 208 variants that have already logged race titles will affirm that emotion will always be at the heart of Peugeots.
Among these vehicles and concept cars, Peugeot said visitors to its vast Frankfurt stand will be able to discover no fewer than “nine examples representative of its launch range,” with the new 308 taking the spotlight. The latest 308 is an audacious hatchback that’s intuitive and modern, according to Peugeot, and is lighter than its predecessor. It will be offered in five gasoline and HDi diesel engine options.
Set to sit alongside the new 308 are the 308 R Concept, an ultra-sporty concept car that wears 19-inch wheels and is propelled by an engine that outputs 270 horsepower; the exclusive RCZ R that’s powered by the same 1.6-liter, 270-horsepower engine as that on the new 308; the carbon-fiber-bodied Onyx Concept whose 20-inch wheels will be spun by a mid-mounted, 3.7-liter V8 hybrid HDi engine that, combined with a six-speed sequential gearbox, makes 600 horsepower; and the 208 GTi that won this year’s 2013 Nürburgring 24-hour endurance race.
The Frankfurt Motor Show will run from September 12 to 22.
