Peugeot 3008 in Eco Fun Run duds

HAVING successfully staged the Peugeot Eco Fun Run on June 27 and August 17, where amazing fuel consumption results of 26.9km/l and 27km/l were set, Peugeot Philippine importer, Eurobrands Distributor Inc. (EDI), announced it had mounted the activity again, which yielded a 28.5km/l result.

EDI said the mileage was posted by Ronnie Trinidad of, who ran in the guests’ division. Trinidad, accompanied by Tinni Isaguirre, set his record run aboard a Peugeot 3008 1.6 e-HDi Microhybrid, which had its air-conditioner switched on. EDI noted that Eco Fun Run participants were also disallowed from traveling below the speed limit.

The run’s route was from Manila to Subic, through the NLEX and SCTEX, then back via Mindanao Avenue—a mix of city and highway driving conditions.

In the Peugeot car owners’ division, EDI said Arcadio Tolentino and Elizabeth Tolentino also achieved 28.5km/l on board a Peugeot 508 1.6 e-HDi Microhybrid—a midsize sedan equipped with the same fuel saving engine as that of the 3008. EDI said the result was garnered under similar driving conditions and the same set of rules as Trinidad and Isagurre experienced.

“We are glad that the public, via the Peugeot Eco Fun Run, are now learning for themselves just how good these Peugeot vehicles are at saving them diesel fuel. Our Microhybrid technology has once again proven the tremendous benefits it can give to Peugeot car owners,” said EDI President Felix Mabilog Jr.

“We enjoin all current Peugeot owners, especially those with the 1.6 e-HDi Microhybrid variants, to join the final staging of the Peugeot Eco Fun Run that we will be staged next month,” the EDI chief added.
