The national leg of the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) Smart Amateur Under-22 Championship is set to unfold January 27 in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.
The tournament, which started in October 2015, features amateur U22 teams from PFF member football associations (FA).
The tourney aims to discover top amateur talents and prepare them to be part of the training pool of the national team.
From the 31 participating teams in the group stage of the tournament, a total of eight squads have qualified to compete in the quarterfinals.
The Baguio-Benguet FA, Cavite FA, Camarines Norte FA will represent Luzon while Negros Occidental will be the lone Visayan contingent in the tourney.
Mindanao will be represented by Bukidnon FA, Davao FA, North Cotabato FA and Misamis Occidental-Ozamiz FA.
The opening round of the national leg will be held at the Panaad Sports Complex in Bacolod City and the North Ceres Football Field in Bago City.
The semifinals of the tournament is set January 29 while the finals will be held on January 31.
