THE Philippines’ 2015 budget gap widened 66 percent to P121.7 billion from P73.1 billion a year earlier, but resulted in a higher-than-target-deficit to GDP ratio, the Department of Finance (DoF) reported Thursday.

It said that relative to the size of the economy, the 2015 fiscal deficit rose to 0.9 percent of GDP, or gross domestic product, lower than the 2-percent target but higher than the 0.6 percent recorded in the previous year. MAYVELIN CARABALLO
