PH absorbs loss in FIBA Asia


AFTER beating Thailand, 65-59, on Monday, the Philippine women’s basketball squad lost to Malaysia, 56-60, on Wednesday in the 25th FIBA Asia Women’s Championship in Bangkok, Thailand.

The Philippines with a 3-1 win-loss slate also won against Hong Kong and Uzbekistan earlier.

The Filipinos need to win against Indonesia on Thursday to sustain their bid to enter Level 1 promotion.

Melissa Jacob posted 17 points, Analyn Almazan added 16 points and Joanne Grajales nine points for the Philippines.

Beng Fong Goh posted 17 points and Shin Min Yong 14 points for Malaysia, which now joined the Philippines at the top of Level II with similar 3-1 win-loss card.
