PHILIPPINE Savings Bank (PSBank), the thrift bank arm of the Metrobank Group, announced that it will be closed on March 24 and 25, Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, in observance of the Holy Week.
“In observance of the Holy Week, all Philippine Savings Bank branches nationwide will be closed on March 24 and 25, 2016,” a PSBank advisory read.
“However, all our 625 ATMs [automated teller machines]will be online and PSBank Mobile and PSBank Online [Internet banking] will be available for your banking transactions,” it added.
Payrolls due those days will still proceed, while check clearing and settlements will be suspended and processed on March 28, Monday. Accounts with March 24 and March 25 due dates will be debited on March 28, as well as maturities of time deposits.
Parent Metrobank also announced a holiday closure and suspension of clearing services from March 24 to March 27, but said that selected offices would be open on March 24 and March 25, with a list of these available at its website at www.metrobank.com.ph.
Also, the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) will be closing its bank branches from March 24 to 27 in the observance of the Holy Week.
“We encourage our clients to complete their banking transactions ahead of the holidays.
For credit card payments, clients may pay their bills on or before March 23, 2016 to ensure posting of their payments before the long weekend,” the BPI said in an advisory.
“Please note that payments made from March 24 to 27 will be posted to their accounts on Tuesday, March 29, 2016,” it added.
Aside from the March 24 to 27 suspension in bank operations, BPI said its 24/7 channels such as online, mobile, and phone banking will not be available by March 24, 9 PM up to March 25, 9 PM.
“…Please be informed that BPI will perform a systems maintenance from March 24 (Maundy Thursday), 9:00 P.M. to March 25 (Good Friday), 9 P.M. BPI’s 24/7 banking channels such as online, mobile and phone banking (89-100) will be unavailable during this time. Transactions via BPI’s ATMs and cash deposit machines will be available,” the bank said.
The Ayala-led bank its said regular banking operations will resume on Monday, March 28.
China Bank likewise announced its offices nationwide would be closed to observe the holiday between March 24 and March 26, with regular operations to resume on Monday, March 28; the bank reminded its customers, however, that its ATM network would be available 24 hours throughout the break.
