Filipino beauty queens Maggie Wilson-Consunji and Parul Shah were declared winners at the conclusion of Amazing Race Asia Season 5 on Thursday in Bali, Indonesia. The duo won $100,000 in the AXN reality TV show.

Via Instagram on Friday, 2007 Binibining Pilipinas-World Wilson thanked her partner 2015 Miss Grand International 3rd Runner-Up Shah and everyone who supported them in their once-in-a-lifetime experience.

“@wilsonmaggie ‘We did it!!!!! Aaaaaaah!!!! To everyone who supported us from the beginning till the very end, I have read all of your comments, words of encouragement and felt your love!!! Thank you so so much!!!! Words cannot even begin to describe our experience! To my partner in times of stress, frustration, tears, laughter and happiness thank you @parulshah88 for always being there through the storms and sunshines! I could have not asked for a better partner!! We did it BABE!’”

Disproving the notion that beauty queens come weak in the physical and psychological departments, another duo of beauty queens—Yvonne Lee and Chloe Chen of Malaysia—placed second.

Married Filipino couple Eric and Rona Tai, placed third. They were leading as they won the previous leg and had ease in the many tasks that ensued, but had a hard time finding a taxi that would take them to the venue of the final challenge, and when finally hailed one, the driver didn’t know where the Pit Stop was.

The race took them to six countries, 12 cities and 12,000 kilometers. Happier of the win is Shah, who said that her prize money will be used to cover her father’s medical expenses.

The Filipino beauty queens are the second team from the country to win the race, after buddies Richard Herrera and Richard Hardin in 2010.

TV hosts Marc Nelson and Rovilson Fernandez placed third in the second season of the show in 2008.
