Newcomer Merwin Matheiu Tan delivered two bronze medals for the Philippines in the 15th Asian School Tenpin Bowling Championships held at the Jaya Ancol Bowling Center in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The Marist School-Marikina standout rolled 1,494 pinfalls on 214, 235, 278, 258, 282 and 227 to take the third-place honors in the six-game boys’ singles event. Mustafa Al Mousawi of Kuwait claimed the gold medal with 1,575 (258, 227, 289, 276, 258 and 267) while Nakano Katsuhito of Japan grabbed the silver with 1,515 (277, 269, 300, 226, 199 and 244).
