THE Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) disagrees with government’s proposal to arm priests for their own safety because it was against the teachings of the Catholic Church, its president said in a statement on Monday.
“I disagree with such a manner of action — that a priest would carry firearms,” said Archbishop Romulo G. Valles of the Archdiocese of Davao.
