The Filipino paddlers got four medals in the 2015 Sarawak International Dra¬gon Boat Regatta held in Kuching, Malaysia.
The Philippines, represented by the Philippine Titans Dragon Boat Team, bagged the first silver after registering one minute and 39.47 seconds in the mixed dragon boat 20-crew event. Singapore’s Polytechnic University took the gold (1:39.09) while Indonesia’s Kapuas Hulu earned the bronze (1:39.82).
The Titans settled to another silver in the open dragon boat 12-crew category following its 1:43.94 showing with Singapore’s Polytechnic University ruling the event anew with a 1:42.65 winning time. Brunei Darussalam’s Majilis Lumba Perahu Lurong Dalam claimed the third place honors.
Another Philippine team, Blue Phoenix Dragon Boat Club, secured the country’s third silver by checking in at 1:47.50 in the mixed dragon boat 12-crew class dominated once again by the Singapore’s Polytechnic University (1:46.41).
The Titans fell to third with 1:48.78 to give the country’s lone bronze in the tournament.
Singapore bagged the overall title with three golds followed by Indonesia with one gold and one bronze, the Philippines with three silvers and one bronze, and Brunei Darussalam with one silver and one bronze.
