The Philippine national futsal team absorbed its third straight defeat in the 2015 Asean Football Federation (AFF) Futsal Championship after losing to Australia, 013, at the Bangkok Futsal Arena in Thailand on Saturday afternoon.

The Philippines, which is housed in Group B with Australia, Laos, Vietnam, and Myanmar, now has a dismal winloss record of 03.

“Despite the score line, this was the best game we played so far among all the games. As part of the direction to expose and develop younger players for a longterm plan for the National Futsal Team, we played the rookies more than the seniors of the team,” said head coach Red Avelino during an interview with The Manila Times after the game.

The national futsal team is set to conclude their campaign in the regional championship with a game against Group B second seed Vietnam at 11:30 p.m. today.
