• PH inflation picks up to 1.1% in Nov on higher food prices

Headline inflation gained pace to 1.1 percent in November, the biggest rise in consumer prices in five months, driven largely by the heavily weighted food and non-alcoholic beverage index.

The overall increase marks a sharp acceleration from 0.4 percent in October, although still below the 3.7 percent rate recorded a year earlier.

The latest inflation figure comes within the 0.4 percent to 1.2 percent range projected earlier by the central bank but exceeded the 0.6 percent to 0.9 band forecast by private analysts.
