THE government has sent a team to the Middle East to check on Filipino health workers there following the confirmation by the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh that a Filipino has tested positive for Middle East Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV), Malacanang said on Sunday.

Presidential Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. said the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and the Department of Health are keeping track of the reported MERS-CoV cases in Saudi and in South Korea.
