The Philippines will be sending a strong 136-member delegation to the ninth Brunei-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East Asean Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) Friendship Games slated on December 6 to 12 in East Kalimantan, Indonesia.
Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Commissioner Charles Maxey will accompany the Team Philippines as the Chief De Mission and Commissioner-in-charge.
The team is composed of athletes, coaches and officials from local government units (LGUs) of Palawan and Davao City.
“This is part of our effort to strengthen sports ties and rekindle the spirits of friendship and camaraderie the East Asia region,” said Maxey.
The Palawan delegation is comprised of 42 athletes, coaches and officials. They will compete in five events – athletics, archery, lawn tennis, table tennis, and sepak takraw.
Davao City delegation, meanwhile, has 86 athletes, coaches, and officials and will see action in eight events – athletics, badminton, basketball, pencak silat, karate, beach volley, lawn tennis, and sepak takraw.
