DOT said the visitor, whose name and nationality have yet to be revealed, will be arriving at 3:48 a.m. Monday.

“DOT’s 2015 five-millionth visitor is arriving tomorrow, December 21, 2015 via PR103,” an advisory from the DOT and the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) said.

PR is the airline code for Philippine Airlines (PAL).

The DOT said the visitor will be welcomed in a simple ceremony at the passport control area.

Expected to welcome the visitor are DOT Undersecretary Benito Bengzon Jr. and Assistant Secretary Rolando Canizal.

DOT is eyeing to have 5.2-million tourist arrivals for the country by the end of the year and 10-million by 2016.

Forget the 10 million tourist, be lucky to get 5 million next year. Infrastructure is falling apart, Mass transit is a joke, corruption and poverty increasing.

The only chance for a increase is Thailand’s military controlled government killing their tourism industry,
Heard they are jailing people for posting negative opinions on Facebook which might benefit the Philippines.

    • What you heard is not true.

FYI, a few days after PI celebrated 5 millionth tourist (while DOT aimed to reach 10 million by 2016) , TH celebrated their 29 millionth tourist of this year (and their target was only 28.7)
