FILIPINO ParaTriathelete Sixto Ducay placed second in the PT4 category of the Asian Triathlon Confederation (ASTC) Asian Para-Triathlon Championships 2015 held in Subic Bay Freeport in Olongapo City, Zambales.

Ducay, who has a left arm impairment, came shortly after a poor swim behind Japanese Keiichi Sato, who emerged to be the fastest in the race with 1:07:20.

The 47-year-old Filipino paratriathlete clocked 1:17:30 to claim the silver medal while Korean Seo Jeong Guk placed third with 1:20:25.

Andy Avellano and Arnel Aba, who both had leg impairment, took a silver medal and bronze in the PT2 event, respectively, in the 750-meter swim, 18-kilometer bike and 5km run tournament.

The competition was participated by paratriathletes from Hong Kong, South Korea, Malaysia, Kyrgyzstan, Singapore, Japan and the Philippines.

With his impressive showing in the Asian meet, Ducay will be considered as top candidate for the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
