A consul general in China has been named the new spokesman of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), a source said on Wednesday.
The source, who refused to be identified, said Philippine Consul General in China Charles Jose has been tapped by the department as its new spokesman.
Outgoing Foreign Affairs department spokesman Raul Hernandez was recently appointed as ambassador to South Korea.
Before he was appointed to Shanghai, Jose was the department’s executive director for Asia-Pacific desk.
He was also an assistant to Assistant Secretary Erlinda Basilio and the Senate’s Office of International Relations director general Carmen Razon-Arceno.
Hernandez was appointed as spokesman in July 2011.
