The Philippine national futsal team will see action in Group B of the Asean Football Federation (AFF) Futsal Championship to be held in Indonesia on October 8 to 18.
The national futsal team, also known as the Muzangs, is ranked 27th in the Asian region and 90th in the world.
A total of 11 teams will be battling for the crown and the three spots for the 2016 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Futsal Championship in this year’s edition of the meet.
Together with the Muzangs in Group B are the teams of Australia, Vietnam, Laos and Myanmar.
Meanwhile, Thailand, Indonesia, Timor-Leste, Brunei, Malaysia and Singapore are all clustered in Group A.
In last year’s competition, the men’s futsal team from the Philippines ended their trip at the bottom of their group with three losses and a draw against Laos during the opening day of the tilt.
