Despite the absence of local leads, the Philippine Stock Exchange index still
managed to make a slight recovery during the morning trade, rising
0.12 percent, or 7.63 points to close at 6,455.81.
The wider all shares, however, remained in the red, losing by 0.14
percent, or 5.57 points to 3,938.16.
For the sectoral indices, financials, mining and oil, and property
were the ones that registered losses, while industrial, holding firms,
and services registered gains.
Some of the most actively traded stocks are SM Investments Corporation, Ayala Corporation, Alliance Global Group, Inc., Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company, Megaworld Corporation, BDO Unibank, Inc., and Universal Robina Corporation.
Value turnover was still at P3.01 billion.
