Philippines aims for bigger medal haul in 2015 SEA Games

Southeast Asian Games’ Chief of Mission Julian Camacho is eyeing to equal or surpass the 41 gold medals the Philippine team had won in the 2007 biennial meet in Thailand, when the country competes in the 2015 Singapore Southeast Asian Games starting June 5 to 16. The Philippines will be sending 472 athletes and 189 officials in the meet wherein 11 countries will fight for 402 gold medals at stake. “After we won the overall title in 2005, the most number of gold medals we won in the SEA Games is 41 in 2007. We’re aiming to surpass that,” Camacho told reporters during the Philippine Sportswriters Association (SA) Forum on Tuesday.
