Philippines finishes sixth overall in 7th Asean School Games

The Philippines finished sixth overall with three golds, three silvers and 11 bronzes in the 7th Asean School Games held at the Tutong Sports Complex in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam. It was far from last year’s 11-gold, 14-silver, 22-bronze fourth-place showing of the Filipinos when the country hosted the event at the Marikina Sports Complex. Indonesia took the top spot with 25 golds, 24 silvers and 10 bronzes while Malaysia settled for second with 20-14-22 followed by Thailand (13-31-26), Vietnam (12-2-10) and Singapore (6-4-10). Host Brunei wound up seventh (1-1-3) while Laos (0-1-2) was dead last in the eight-nation tournament.
