Philippines suffers losses in Southeast Asian junior table tennis


THE Philippine boys’ and girls’ 18-under teams and the15-under boys’ girls’ team suffered opening game setbacks in the first day of 19th Southeast Asian Table Tennis Association Junior Championship on Friday at the Garden Square of Harrison Plaza Mall.

The Philippine boys’ 18-under team absorbed a 0-3 defeat against Singapore, while the Philippine girls’ 18-under squad also suffered a 0-3 bashing against Vietnam during their first game in the elimination round.

Only the country’s girls’ 15-under team fought valiantly despite losing to Thailand in a close match, 2-3. The Philippines’ boys’ 15-under team also lost in a close fight against Singapore, 2-3.
