Phoenix police find decapitated body, mutilated dogs

PHOENIX: Police found a woman’s decapitated body and two mutilated dogs inside a Phoenix apartment Saturday morning, according to reports. Officials believe the man responsible also cut his left arm off and removed one of his own eyeballs, The Arizona Republic reported. Police spokesman Sgt. Trent Crump gave this account of the horrific incident to The Republic: A male neighbor knocked on the door of the apartment to check on the 43-year-old suspect, whom he hadn’t seen since the day before. When the man, whose name was not immediately released, answered the door, his left arm was severed at the elbow and his left eyeball was missing. The neighbor could see that the apartment’s floors and walls were covered in blood and immediately contacted authorities. When officers arrived, they found the woman’s decapitated body inside a walk-in closet. Two dead dogs were also discovered inside the residence. Crump said the suspect was taken to a hospital, where he was undergoing surgery. The woman’s name was not immediately released.
