• PH’s Gomez rules Arkansas 9-Ball

Former World 9-Ball Championship runner-up Roberto Gomez bagged his first title this year after topping the 2016 Arkansas Open 9-Ball Championship held at the Little Rock Activity Center in Arkansas, US. The 37-year-old Zamboanga City native stamped his class over American Shane McMinn and scored a 7-5 victory in their championship showdown. Gomez pocketed the $3,000 top purse while McMinn settled for the $1,500 consolation prize. Gomez earned a spot in the finals by ousting Americans Jeff Sullivan in the quarterfinals, 7-3, and Joey Gray via an impressive 7-0 rout in the semifinals.
