• PH’s Pacio challenges ONE Japanese champ


    Undefeated strawweight contender Joshua Pacio braces for the toughest fight of his young career when he takes on ONE strawweight world champion Yoshitaka Naito in the main event of ONE: State of Warriors on October 7 at the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar.

    The 20-year-old Team Lakay stalwart boasts of eight wins – three by knockout and five via submission.

    Pacio, a native of Baguio City has a strong wushu background fortified by solid grappling skills.

    Fighting out of Chiba, Japan, Naito has a perfect 11-0 card with five wins by submission and one by knockout.

    The 32-year-old Japanese mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter will make his first title defense after submitting former champion Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke for the strawweight title.

    Meanwhile, middleweight standout Aung La N Sang of Myanmar will face middleweight contender Michal Pasternak of Poland in the headline bout.

    Aung currently holds a professional MMA record of 18 wins and nine losses while Pasternak has an 11-0 card.

    Aung, who is on a three-bout winning streak, is also known as “The Burmese Phyton” for his style of fighting.
