The 2016 edition of the Pilipinas Cup featuring different age groups matches will unfold today at the Clark Freeport Zone Parade Grounds in Pampanga.
The tournament, organized by Manila Soccer Academy, is an annual international youth-level football tournament that aims to serve as a venue for the country’s rising stars.
This year, Pilipinas Cup will be featuring games from the Under-10 up to the Under-19 level in the boys division together with the Under-17 girls category.
Also, an 11-a-side games in the open division will be highlighting the event, as the country’s top amateur clubs will be fielding teams to compete in the said class.
The back-to-back Men’s Open Division games of Angeles United FC against the Golden Eagles FC at 11 a.m. and against Ateneo de Manila University at 3 p.m. will highlight the opening day.
Collegiate squads University of Perpetual Help System Dalta and Far Eastern University (FEU) are scheduled to battle in the same division at 2 p.m.
In the Women’s Open, University Athletic Association of the Philippines reigning champion University of the Philippines will be playing against University of Santo Tomas at 2 p.m. followed by the clash between Ateneo and FEU at 4 p.m.
