• Pilot, student unhurt in plane mishap


    A pilot and a student pilot escaped unhurt after the front wheel of the Cessna plane they were riding exploded upon touch down at the Davao International Airport on Thursday. The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines said pilot S.I. Ronelo Cuntamora and the unidentified student pilot, were on a local touch-and-go flight. It was learned that the Cessna (RP-C9002) operated by Davao-based Mactan Aviation school had just finished its training flight when the incident occurred at 8:42 a.m. Davao airport authorities were forced to close the runway for 22 minutes to remove the stalled plane.
