Pinays lose to Taiwan in Under-23 Women’s Volleyball Championship

Showing signs of fatigue, the Filipinas suffered another painful loss to the much taller Taiwanese side, 17-25, 19-25, 20-25, to settle for the battle-for-seventh place in the 1st Asian Under-23 Women’s Volleyball Championship on Friday at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City. “I’m still proud of the girls. We can’t make excuses, we couldn’t receive well but I’m satisfied with their performance,” said national head coach Roger Gorayeb. The Philippines will be facing the loser between India and Iran in the battle-for-seventh game scheduled at 10 a.m. today.
