Pinoy fiesta comes alive in stamps


THE Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) released stamps to highlight the celebration of Filipino fiesta which is celebrated in every town and province.

As part of the Filipino culture, fiestas are held in churches, usually a feast in honor of a town’s patron saint.

The comic-style postage stamps features four different colorful illustrations of popular Filipino Fiestas such as the Sinulog Festival which is celebrated every third week of January in Cebu City; Panagbenga, a month-long annual flower festival in Baguio City; the Pahiyas which is held every 15th of May in Quezon and the Higantes (giant) Festival in Angono, Rizal.

The stamps are being sold for P15 each. The stamps were designed by PhlPost creative Artist Rodine Teodoro.
