The National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) has named three Grandmasters who will represent the Philippines in the prestigious 41st World Chess Olympiad scheduled on August 1 to 14 in Tromso, Norway. GM Wesley So leads the team in the 14-day biennial meet which will be participated by more than 100 countries in the world. The 20-year-old So is fresh from winning the Capablanca Memorial 2014 crown in Havana, Cuba. Joining him are fellow GMs Oliver Barbosa and Julio Catalino Sadorra. In the 2012 edition held in Turkey, the Philippines represented by So, Barbosa, GMs Eugene Torre and Mark Paragua, finished 21st overall with 14 points.
