Filipino basketball team Mighty Sports is scheduled to play against ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) champions Westports Malaysia Dragons in the 2016 Merlion Cup at the OCBC Arena in Singapore at 6:30 p.m. today.
Mighty Sports, currently on top of the standings in Group B with a lone victory, is aiming to qualify for the semifinals knockout round of the six-team tourney.
The Filipinos beat top Korean team Seoul Samsung Thunder, 92-87, via late game surge.
Mighty Sports, fresh off their title run in the recently concluded Jones Cup, is composed of Kiefer Ravena, Joseph Yeo, TY Tang, Edrick Ferrer, Jason Deutchman, Gelo Alolino, Gab Banal and Raphael Banal. They will be reinforced by Marcus Douthit, Al Thornton, Dewarick Spencer, Hamady N’Diaye, Fil-Am Jason Brickman and Fil-Canadian Matthew Wright.
