Top leading man Piolo Pascual will be one of the presenters at the 43rd International Emmy Awards in New York, alongside a list that includes Hollywood bigwig Michael Douglas.
ABS-CBN made the announcement on Wednesday, whose president and CEO Charo Santos-Concio is also serving as the Emmy’s Gala Chair for the year.
“I’m really overwhelmed . . . It’s something new for me and I’m just really excited to be there and represent the country and to be with Tita Charo. I’m really excited because we’re carrying the flag of the Philippines,” Piolo said in an interview with the station’s prime time news program TV Patrol.
Besides his Emmy appearance, Piolo will also visit Asia Society’s New York headquarters on Friday, New York time. He will tour Philippine Gold: Treasures of Forgotten Kingdoms, Asia Society Museum’s critically acclaimed exhibition, and participate in a fan meet-and-greet with Filipinos in the area.
Piolo’s visit also coincides with the New Philippine Cinema, a series at Asia Society that explores the energy, audacity, and creativity of recent Philippine filmmaking. The society screened his film On the Job (2013) on November 15.
