Plane offloads actress for unruly behavior

A character actress was offloaded on Friday from a Cebu Pacific flight bound for Pagadian due to her unruly behavior.

Airport authorities said that Cebu Pacific flight 5J771 was forced to return to Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) when actress Melissa Mendez made a commotion 14 minutes after the plane’s takeoff.

Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines said the incident affected  174 passengers including three infants.

Pilot in command, Captain Ricardo Viajar, said the actress was restrained after cursing and hurting a fellow passenger who is a friend of athlete and model Andrew Wolff.

The actress, according to authorities, occupied the reserved seats supposedly for Wolff and his friend.

She only agreed to vacate the seat after flight crew and security asked the actress to transfer to her reserved seat.

According to NAIA terminal 3 manager Octavio Lina, Mendez reeked of beer when security personnel escorted her from the plane. She was brought to the airport’s security office for investigation.
