Plane suffers landing gear problem


A PAL Express flight bound for Davao was forced to return to Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) after it suffered a nose landing gear problem, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said on Tuesday. CAAP said Flight 2P 2811 with 180 passengers on board had to return to NAIA when its nose landing gear got stuck and did not retract shortly after takeoff at 6:47 a.m. Meanwhile, Cebu Pacific flight 5J771 with 121 passengers on board made an unexpected landing at Pagadian airport after experiencing a bird strike while on its final approach at the airport, the CAAP quoted the pilot identified only as Capt. Austria.
