A plant worker was burned to death late Saturday after an explosion hit a plywood plant in a remote village in Agusan del Sur, police reports said on Monday.
Reports at the PNP national operations center in Camp Crame identified the fatality as Morillo Eleodar, 56, widower and a resident of New Society Village, Butuan City.
The reports said Eleodar works as a boilerman for Agusan Plywood Corp., at Brgy. Manapa, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte that was hit by an explosion late Saturday.
Initial investigation revealed that the explosion came from an overheated board dustbin near where the victim was working, reports said.
The reports said the victim was hit by fire-shock and suffered severe burns on the different parts of his body resulting to his death.
Further investigation is still being conducted jointly by Buenavista police and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) to determine if there is a foul play or negligence on the part of the management.
The reports said the victim’s remains lies at Bollozo’s Funeral Homes, Butuan City and will be subjected for autopsy. ANTHONY VARGAS
