PLDT buries phone wires for APEC

ILOILO CITY: The Philippine Long Distance Telephone (PLDT) company has agreed to to bury more than three kilometers of telephone wires at the Jaro district in preparation for two ministerial meetings of the Asia Pacific Economic Conference (APEC) scheduled for September and October this year. PLDT’s Rene Lescano said the P100-million project will be completed before the city hosts the meetings. The project, which will be completed in April, will use fiber optic wires as an upgrade to the existing telephone lines. Lescano said fiber optic is more efficient, less expensive and attractive to the business process outsourcing (BPO) companies. Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog said the project will project Iloilo City as being business-friendly and with modern telecommunications facilities.

They told me Manila is like New York 1901.
It’s been 17 years now, still cables are hanging Making Manila Dirty.
Why not the a single congressman or NTC orders , TElco and cable companies to Bury their cables.
Its time our Taxes works for us.
