PNoy invites Myanmar president to visit Philippines


NAY PYI TAW, Myanmar — President Benigno S. Aquino 3rd has invited Myanmar President Thein Sein to the Philippines for a state visit.

President Aquino met with President Thein Sein on Friday on the sidelines of the 22nd World Economic Forum on East Asia, hosted by Myanmar.

Arriving at Nay Pyi Taw on Friday morning, the President and his delegation proceeded straight to the Presidential Palace for a bilateral meeting with Sein.

The Philippines and Myanmar established diplomatic relations in September 1956.

After meeting with the Myanmar leader, President Aquino met with WEF founder and executive chairman Klaus Schwab at the Myanmar International Convention Center.
